Ushio begins mass production of 850 nm 250 mW infrared laser diodes that can be used in a wide temperature range from -40°C to 75°C

Ushio proudly announces the mass production and shipment of the new HL85022MG series laser diodes (LDs), which are characterized by high power, high efficiency, and excellent beam quality and are used as an infrared light source for night vision and ranging sensors.

Infrared LEDs in the 800 nm range are used as light sources for infrared illumination applications such as night vision devices, distance measurement sensors such as ToF (Time of Flight)*1, triangulation, and 3D sensing. Recently, the demand for accurate measurements over long distances in any environment has increased.

To meet these market demands, Ushio has further increased the output power and efficiency while maintaining good beam quality, and started mass production and shipment of the 250 mW HL85022MG series at 850 nm with extended operating temperature range of -40°C to 75°C from November 2023. This enables the HL85022MG series to be used in a wide range of applications in both extremely cold and hot environments.

With this product launch, Ushio will continue to contribute to a safer society in the future.
