Ushio Publishes Life Test Results of Filtered Care222® Modules

Oude Meer, the Netherlands (March 2022) — Ushio Inc. (Head Office: Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Naito; subsequently referred to as “Ushio”), the worldwide leader in filtered 222 nm krypton chloride lamp technology, has published life test data of its Care222® modules. Life tests were performed on twenty production lamps for over a year, without any failures, and continue to collect more data.

Care222® B1 Module (Production Model) Lifetime Vs. Output Performance Test Data

The tests show that the output performance of the Care222® modules is consistent over the operational lifetime; with a degradation of just 30% (L70) to be expected over 11,000 hours. This gives customers confidence that the Care222® technology is the most reliable 222 nm light source in the world and delivers several years of reliable disinfection results in applications without the need for a lamp change.

Care222® B1 Module (Production Model) Short-Term Output Stability

Furthermore, short-term output stability of Care222® modules remains excellent, exceeding competitor products, and ensures predictable and repeatable 222 nm dose levels in disinfection applications. The results underline Ushio’s leadership in 222 nm technology together with its patent-protected filter and driver technology.
