Laser Diodes: Part Numbering

Ushio Europe identifies and differentiates its large collection of laser diodes through the following part numbering convention:

• (a) HL: Ushio Laser Diode
• (b) 63: Wavelength: (first 2 digits of wavelength)
  – 40: 400 nm, 63: 635 nm, 65: 655~660 nm, 67: 670~680 nm, 70: 705 nm, 73: 730 nm, 83: 830 nm (or 850 nm)
• (c) 54: Serial Number
• (d) MG: Package Type (CAN package). Please refer to Figure 2.
  – HD: f9.0 mm, G: f9.0 mm, MG: f5.6 mm(short can) , DG: f5.6 mm (tall can), TG: f3.8mm
• (e) -A: RoHS compliant; items without ‘–A’ in the part number denotes a product that is not RoHS compliant. All of Ushio’s current available products are RoHS compliant.
